How to make watalappam (Sri lankan famous dessert) -Coconut milk and jaggery custard pudding

Watalappam is a delicious dessert and it's very famous in sri lanka. There are few methods to make watalappam.

It's very easy to make.Now let's try to make Watalappam at home

Ingredient list
  • Jaggery - 400 grams (Kithul hakuru or kithul treacle )
  • 7 Eggs
  • Two cup of coconut milk
  • 1 tea spoons of cardamon (Anasal )
  • 1 tea spoons of nutmeg ( sadikka)
  • ½ tea spoons of cinnamon powder
  • ½ tea spoons of Clove powder
  • 3 cups of hot water 
  • 1 table spoons of molasses (you can buy molasses at market)
  • 1 tea spoons of vanila

How to Preparation
Take your blender cup (mixture grinder ) Put Kithul jaggery , one tsp of  molasses , Eggs yoke and whites together, coconut milk , also add cardamon powder, nutmeg powder , little bit vanila , and all ingredient to blender cup
✪ Blend all 30 second to 1 minutes until mix well all ingredients
✪ After mix pour in to baking dish and put some water to outer tray , 1 inch deep is enough  (  also you want big and small dish to it )

 ✪ Now bake your watalappam mixture without covering 1.hour and 15 minutes using oven also remember to cook it using 350 F temperature (all ovens is not the same try to check after 50 minutes if it is done )

✪  After 1hour take out it from oven , if it is bake well you can see nice dark brown color on top , Also try to insert table knife to center, next the knife come out clean it mean its bake well.

✪ Now put watalappam few hours in to fridge
✪ After all steps are done try to taste it
